Tile suggestions for flooring

I have been on the hunt for a 8x48 wood look tile plank that isn't too gray and isn't too brown and has some texture to it. Everything is either too brown, too dark, too gray. The too gray ones also have green tones which I do not care for. I found a very nice tile called Shireen Gray which was light with a mix of browns and grays but it only comes in a 10x40 which I don't like. This picture shows a little more brown than the tile actually has but it's not too far off. I do prefer a little more gray but this works too. The ones without texture look too fake and "digitalized." Has anyone used a tile you absolutely love ? I've exhausted my local tile stores and I do have a tile designer searching through her arsenal as well. I was hoping someone here might have a hidden gem.

IMO wood look tile is already a dated choice and has never fooled anyone. Could you maybe share a bit more info . I dislike tile flooring anywhere except a bathroom , it is hard on backs, feet and knees too.

Thanks Patricia; It's for a whole house and we have gone back and forth with Mohawk Laminate planks vs LVT vs tile. I sold tile for so long that I don't care for so much of it lol but I do like the look of the wood planks. For me, it's not meant to "fool anyone" and I said those exact same words to my finacee LOL. We need about 2000 sf of it (house in florida). Carpet is never an option and neither are hardwoods and with 3 pups I'm worried about nails on engineered wood. My fiancee has them in his house and his dog has done a number on them. Our options tend to be tile or the lvt/laminate wood looks. This particular choice will run throughout the entire house minus 2 bathrooms.

Where in Florida? Padron Tile has beautiful wood look tile in all sizes, that’s what we did for our house. It was in 2018 and the tile has held up great. We live in so fla, with dogs, kids and a pool. It was the perfect choice for our transitional remodel. I also love tile that has hundreds of faces and different sizes. Looks a little more natural.

Crossville's Sidecar series looks good, but I'm not sure it comes in the size you want. And I disagree that wood-look tile is dated. If it's done throughout the house, it will look great. We used it for a client's kitchen--comes in multiple colors.

@Sabrina Alfin Interiors I do think I looked at this series but they don't have the larger plank. I will double check though. @KR your floor is beautiful.. This is the gulf side near Sarasota

Sorry Sabrina, it absolutely is moving into the dated look. I would look more closely at LVP instead since you don't want engineered wood. I have engineered white oak wood and no scratches and a dog with long nails.

@Sabrina Alfin Interiors I tend to agree with you, I prefer the look of the wood plank tile over the LVT as well. I've done my research in the geographical area we are building and it runs 50/50 over what consumers are choosing.

Everyone keeps saying wood look tile is on the way out but I still keep seeing it in expensive new builds in my area, maybe depends on what area of the country you’re in. I have LVP on my second floor and while I like it for bedrooms, I wouldn’t put it on my main living floor especially with a pool. I just don’t think it’s as durable as tile. I’d go to a nice tile shop, I know good wood look tiles exist! It just takes time to find.

Yeah.. it's just tough finding the right one in the right size :) I worked at a really big specialty store and I've gone there 3x in the past few months. I have a tile designer in Florida helping me look as well. I'll keep plugging away :)

I saw this tile collection in a Los Angeles tile store. Nice long planks and Decors in different shapes and sizes. You can look on their website or email them for local vendors. None of the colors worked for me, but I loved the look, feel and quality of the product. I really liked that you could mix some herringbone, or other shapes, to break up some of the planks in a large space.

KR do you remember the name of your tile. I saw your reply in another post that it is from Trinity Tile in FL. Also the grout color. I know it was awhile ago but here's hoping you remember!

Yup that is it, Trinity Tile and the stock number I have on my receipts is SP031. Give Padron a call, they’re in SE Florida but they might ship over there. I know they’re a very popular tile store and work with interior designers all over Florida so it’s worth a shot. Here is a house near me it was installed in which made me decide on it, helpful to see pictures. https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/2869-Blue-Cypress-Ln_Wellington_FL_33414_M54157-31246#photo7

Thanks so much. I am wavering between tile and LVP. The LVP reviews are all over the place and I am thinking just go with the tile and not worry about. Is yours installed with the minimum grout line? Did you pick the darkest grout color out of the tile?

Oh and I looked but I have no idea what grout was used, sorry. They (Padron) picked it for me based on what they had there in the showroom.

Porcelanosa also has some nice wood look tile.

Thanks all! We spent the day going to tile stores today. We found an 8x48 from Mediterranea called Boardwalk. The color was myrtle beach. We got 4 planks to bring home. We are going to move them from room to room and live with them for awhile to see how we like them.

Fwiw, I just moved into a new build and for the lower level, I purchased Shaw Journey Tile LVT. This line mimics stones and it is really beautiful. I hope it holds up well.
