I am not sure what that particular style of architecture is so maybe post more pics of your spaces, To me this seems like a style of the old New Orleans type home. in my head. The staircase seems to be quite usual in that style but IMO a much darker wood for the handrail and newel post and treads for a richer look.This is to me what it should look like

You can always change the balusters and newel posts to something that's squarer and cleaner-looking. Some suggestions:

Thanks! I was leaning towards this look. The square posts are a great idea. I’m worried about the darker treads. I will add more photos of the family room.
