What kind of soil do you have in the garden? Do you know your soil pH?

I don't.. is there something I can buy to test it?

You can buy soil test kit. There is a lot of info on the Net how to use it.

In Mass, it's very likely to be acidic soil.

Hope they are northern high bush. nourse farms in yo backyard if you need more

I used to live in the MId-Atlantic so my soil was acidic, but it still wasn't acidic enough for my blueberries. They were chlorotic and stunted the first year. I ended up digging in lots of sulfur and after that they took off and thrived. I hear that Mass has very acidic soils, but you may want to get that soil test to avoid future issues.

Also, keep in mind that birds LOVE blueberries. Consider planting them in a spot that will allow you to use netting or some other protection in the future.
