Drapes for Weird windows

Hello, I have 2 separate window treatment questions for my home.

1. I’d love to hang these worn velvet curtains, or something similar in my dining room, but am not sure how to treat the smaller window. Keep it as is with a panel on each side or just do one panel on the side with the larger wall? I think the larger window is too far away to do a wrap around corner effect. I am planning on raising the rods. I currently have 95’ panels, so I think my ceilings are 9’.

2. I have these small, high windows in my living room and have no idea what to do with them. I’m not married to having curtains. They are just up because I had no idea what else to do.

3. Also, random question... i live in a townhouse but the way my house and the windows are situated, it is pretty private. All my windows either overlook my backyard, or the ones in the dining room, which overlook my neighbors front walk. Neither are a hotbed of activity. My mom acts like it’s a sin to take down the blinds because of privacy I guess. But I don’t like them, can’t think of anything I’d replace them with, don’t have an issue with people peering in my windows (and the windows aren’t visible from the sidewalk or street), and I don’t get a lot of natural light. Can I just take them down already!?!
