Does anyone have a Miele WT-946 washer/dryer unit and could advise?

I have a W1 at my primary residence and picked up a WT-946 integrated washer/dryer combo for my other place. It's a little tricky on the programming, although I've figured out most of it, far more involved on temp/cycle type and secondary drying selections. My issue is that since it's an integrated unit, with custom panel covers to blend into kitchen cabinetry, I can't see if there is excess sudsing. Is there a way to monitor this without a visual?

Also occasionally it will become unbalanced and make a frightful racket while it re-balances, I've checked the level on the legs, it's on a flat concrete slab, and I can't think of any reason why it would "dance/knock" during the spin, but I opened it up and the suspension springs look fine. Anyone have any other ideas on what to check?

"I've checked the level on the legs"

"Level on the legs"?. Did you actually level the machine front-to-back and side-to-side using a spirit level as shown on page 60 of the manual?

Is it becoming unbalanced due to a mixed load of laundry (jeans or towels mixed with light weight fabrics?) Is the load larger than recommended by the manufacturer?

Did you download the entire user manual from the company website?

Yes, I leveled it as per the manual. and the concrete slab floor is completely level.

@Rebecca King-were you present when it was installed? I ask because there have been reports of delivery people making shortcuts, failing to remove all packing bolts, etc., which later affected machine's operation.

If you've followed the guide re: type of HE detergent and measured amounts, I would not be concerned about over sudsing. It is, however, the chief problem with newer laundry, due to wrong detergent or over measurement, which eventually leads to wear and tear andshortened life of machine. Are you fortunate enough to have an auto dispenser?

If none of these issues are relevant to your situation, I'd call your appliance store for help. Typically, Miele has few if any problems. You may find something on the Yale Appliance website. The company is located in Boston, MA, but the information is very detailed. You'll see a section devoted to Miele, and integrated w/d units.

Yes, I have the full manual and read it cover to cover. I installed it myself, so no shortcuts here [I had three spirit levels going while I set the legs] . I'm only using imported german persil and henkel powders, using the atticmag miele cheat sheet, but since the front is flat panel with no glass to check I don't know if I should be adjusting. No twindos on this machine.

I don't think this machine was carried in the US, so I didn't see anything on the Yale site [the neighbor I got it from had it imported from Japan] and my local Miele center in NYC only carries W1 and T1 at this point, no all-in-one combos and the techs aren't trained in combos. Just in case it wasn't clear this machine is a single unit combo washer/dryer, so it's different than separate units that I've troubleshooted/owned previously and heavier than a normal Miele.

I'm not trying to be contrary, just posted here in the hope that an English speaker has one of these rare beasts and could give some advice, the only youtubes I could find are in languages I know how to speak : )

@Rebecca King-Wow, this is really frustrating. Have you tried contacting Miele in Germany? I could find nothing to assist in your dilemma. I did see that Yale thought the dry times in the combined units took forever to dry, but nothing of relevance for you. If necessary, I suppose you could try using Google translate, but it may be very time consuming. I'm sure that Miele's personnel are fluent in English.

You know, I hadn't thought about google translate, so I might give that a shot! I'm sure it's some small thing that I've overlooked, might also look at some of my other machine manuals to see if there might be some insight from a different brand and read the WT manual again [it took me 2 read throughs just to fully understand what "rinse fluff" meant, how it worked, and various other mentions of "fluff" throughout the tome.

Also good advice on reaching out to Germany Miele.

Honestly the dry time isn't bad, it's just that the dryer load capacity is 2.5kg, while the washer is 5kg, so you need to take out half the wash or run the washer at half full for a synched wash/dry cycle, which is a little annoying. I don't really care though because it's so quiet, tiny, and doesn't radiate any heat during drying, unlike my old compact Bosch condensor; A perfect NYC machine. Works really well except for the occasional flamenco dance, which hopefully some google translate can work out!

Please post if you receive a response from Miele. I'm sure others will benefit from your findings!
