Hello,
Seeking recommendation for

  • 30 inch slide gas range
  • convention oven
  • dual fuel
  • open burner preferred
  • at least one high power burner
  • 5+ burner preferred

My slide in range will go in and island so a sleek fit is important.

Thanks.

I purchased mine at a scratch and dent place, It is not dual fuel but i love it! it is a kitchen aid brand. Convection oven, open burner, it has 4 regular burners and a middle oblong one for "keeping things warm"

I've had it for almost a year and a half now and its been amazing.

@ceilsan32 I don't have a set budget as such. I want to pay the price for something which is suitable for need. I don't need the latest or greatest pro chef quality because as much as I like to cook I am not someone who cooks every single day. I only cook twice or thrice a week. I do not need the most precise oven or highest BTU.

I do like to make curries and love doing it on gas burner, I do like to stir fry so something which has decent power is good enough. My spouse does like to bake bread and is really very good at it so a decent oven which can be used to grow the skill will suffice.

Glass cooktop, island, and aromatic cooking, is the worst possible combination. Unless you just want your house to be covered in grease and smell.

I’ve been using my GE dual fuel that meets all your criteria for the last 10 years. It’s been on a peninsula, with no ventilation, with no problem.

In my kitchen remodel I am relocating my range and will have ventilation. I’d like to move to the GE slide in, double oven range, but given that my current range is so similar and serves me well, I think I’m going to continue using what I have now.

Appliancesconnection.com has a blog re: top dual fuel ranges, which may be of some interest to you. Because your husband bakes bread, he may appreciate having a warming drawer below the range, for proofing. The ovens noted on the blog varied in interior size from 3.2 to 5.2 cu. ft. GE is now owned by Haier, but I'm unsure whether all products are now made in China. Typically, GE ovens had a decent repitation for quality and reliability.

I haven't personally seen the need for a steam oven when baking bread, preferring to utilize Julia Child's system, or simply placing a pan of water in the oven, as needed.

Because you like to stir fry, an 18000 BTU burner might be worth your while, although not an absolute necessity.

I’d urge you to reconsider in favor of a 36” cooktop and separate double wall ovens on the perimeter. You get to mix and match functions with individual components that speak to those individual requirements. Ventilation is also much more effective, and less expensive, with a cooking zone against a wall to help contain the byproducts plume. 5 burners is unusable in 30”. Even 4 pans are difficult to fit in 30”, without using 2 small and 2 larger. If you want 5 usable burners, you need 36”. But, I’ve prepared Thanksgiving for 20, and never used but 3 burners, and 2 ovens.
