Need suggestions about bedroom storage without a closet

Hi, my girlfriend and I are in the process of buying a townhouse and are planning to make the top floor loft our master bedroom. The only problem is that there is no closet and we don't want to congest the space with a lot of dressers or bureaus. We'd love to be able to have a closet in the loft, but figured it would cost too much or take too long to have it built, so we are coming up with alternative ideas.

I've attached a picture of the loft and the large wall that we want to use as our blank canvas for some sort of organizational system for hanging or stacking clothes. One idea I had was to use a closet organizational kit from a home improvement store which I've installed previously without any issues, but just put it directly onto the large wall. The problem I keep encountering is how to "hide" or blend that into the room, such as with an enclosure around it or simply something in front of it all to hide it. Due to the baseboard heater against the wall, we can't just have something on the ground, so the system would have to be hanging/floating on the wall, hence why I thought a closet organization system would be a good option.

I'm hoping that there are folks out there with more knowledge about this sort of thing or that are more creative with this sort of thing and can provide us with some ideas. Thanks!

And what else do you plan on doing to the room? Any other update your interested in doing. Sounds like ur handy so I think that’s good!!

Anyways. I’m thinking the bed would look best on that wall so not sure that’s a good spot for the closet. Show the rest of the room please

is that the only heater in the room on the back wall - careful not to cover up or block -- i was thinking you could create a front panel using ceiling mounted plumbing connectors and hang curtains from it BUT you would block the heating unit-- other option is to buy a bunch of wall mounted book shelves and store your clothes in cute containers vs hanging - the dollar store has collapsible containers as an example

In a similar situation, I’ve use Container Store’s freestanding Elfa closet and put a ceiling mounted curtain rack (and curtains) in front of it.

You could buy a rolling clothing rack with a shelf at the bottom for shoes etc. That way easy to move around too, just be sure you buy a strong , sturdy one.

Years ago I had an apartment with this problem. I got a bunch of covered Target free standing racks and made covers for them in nice fabric.

Some are so nice, you don't have to make a cover (but this one has more shelves than room to hang - you'll have to get on the internet and do a little searching). Use the words: free standing clothes racks.
