Is my Jelly Palm going to survive?

Hello folks,
A friend of mine removed one Jelly palm from his farm and gave me as a gift. The roots are all exposed and the gardener is going to arrive only tomorrow to plant it, 24 hours after it was removed from the original site. Is it going to survive that long with the roots all exposed?
