Are you sure you need a 7' x 5' shower? That's a lot of shower and could fit 4 people comfortably. Plus if you tend to get cold in a shower, (I do) you might want something a bit smaller.

The architect actually had it larger if you can believe it! Based on some Houzz input, we added a linen closet with the extra space!

None of the above. What is the step in closet for? The toilet closet looks claustrophobic and I like toilet closets, but not the ones where you have to step behind the toilet to open and close the door. I would move the toilet closet against the outside wall and enter it from the side and make it at least 6ft long and use a pocket door there. Then add a small window into the toilet room.

Also do you need a 5ft wide shower and 7 ft long one? It looks like you only have a drain to one side so only one shower head? If there is only a single shower head then it has a lot of wasted square footage that won't be used, but in contrast you have really small vanities which in general will see more usage than the extra shower space. 4ft wide shower is generous unless you are a huge person. 3.5 feet is comfortable, and 3 ft is tighter.

I like two separate vanities, but 4ft is a nice size. 3ft is small and anything in between is a bonus. 6ft is minimum for two sinks.

How about something like this instead? I personally prefer my sinks near the door so I use the toilet, then go to the sink to wash and leave. Or if I just need to do makeup, I don't have to go through the whole bathroom to use the sink.

BTW: A toilet room should always have the door swing out in case of an emergency. And what I'm thinking here is doing like I did with my toilet door and making it a glass door that's frosted so the light from the window would come through the room.

I made the shower as larger as your architect had it, but absolutely you can shrink it. If you do, I'd add the extra space back to your closet.

You don't need a walk in linen closet. As a matter of fact, it's useless because how do you maneuver in there?

Now also the vanities give you lots of room for storage between them and below.

I like Cpart"s design. I would make the shower smaller (less wide) and use a pocket door on the toilet room.

I also like CParts suggestions. Building on that, what if you moved the main bathroom door down towards the vanity more? This gives you a straighter path to toilet and washing hands. You could put linen closet where door was and have a longer vanity if that’s important to you. Not sure how that would affect your bedroom furniture plans or where you will hang your towels...

Here's a rough sketch where I changed your shower to smaller in width but longer so you can have two shower heads one on each end. Also the vanity is larger, and I added a small window to be between the sinks, but it is not needed. I just happen to like lots of windows in a space. I made the window in front of the tub smaller and added another next to it to balance the outside so you don't have an off window. The stg can be used for towels and other things and I was thinking of it as a tall matching cabinet to the vanities.

Also has plenty of space to clean around the free-standing tub if moved out a bit from the wall.

Here's the layout with the suggested changes. Moved the door over and added the linen closet next to door.

Changed toilet door to pocket door.

Enlarged vanity even more.

Made shower smaller and added a bench between shower and toilet with a window above. Think of it as a place to dry off, etc. Or a small makeup desk could go there.

Whatever design you will choose, change the door from a right-hand swing to a left-hand swing, plus what others suggested.
