I think that arched window throws off the craftsman style. Do you have a picture of the more modern door you are considering?

If I were you, I would take the shutters off. They are not right for the windows, or I should say, the windows are not right for shutters.

From what I can see of your house and the lovely setting. It looks contemporary or some might transitional. I agree with what Design Girl recommended. Even what you are thinking might work, but only if you take off the shutters.

Those shutter are not appropriate on those windows so forget making the garge door work with them. The doors you show are MCM style and not at all craftsman which BTW will never be your house without huge $$$$$ spent. I would remove some of the growth covering your entry for sure , IMO it is important to see the entry to a home. I think darker trim and darker windows could be a huge improvement over the white and honestly a new paint color would be a great idea. Then do a nice wood door with windows but not quite as modern looking as the ones you show.If you are painting the siding then I would plan on removing the arched window it really does nothing for the house.

I’d try to pull in roof color with a deep brownish grey door (may be less expensive than wood also).

Bring in wood with large rustic planters as it’s nice to compliment the feel of your front yard. Place your cedars inside (if large enough/you don’t want to change out seasonally), but suggest something more impactful, which is needed, with front door not visible - no focal point.

Change the lanterns, remove shutters, and also consider the color of front door so everything is complimentary.

I personally prefer garage doors without windows because I don't like people being able to look in and see if my car is there or not (I live alone). For your home and cost, not a factor I would go wood.
