What’s killing my marigolds?

last modified: 5 years ago

I planted this guys along with tomato plants back in June. They where doing great (the ones in the soil better than the ones in pots). Tomatoes are gone, but I kept watering the flowers as normal (every other day from the base). I lost one plant because mealybugs. I don’t see any bugs in this two, but there is something definitively wrong with them. Buds now are dying before opening, lower leaves dried and die. Hope you can help me figure out what is that I missed, if there is a solution and/o how to prevent this in the future. I live in a zone 9.

Thank you
