I would be very concerned about what the corbels are fastened to, and how that thin piece was engineered.

Thanks for the reassurance Joseph. the original countetops removed were the laminate variety and those are light. I just hope the corbels can sustain the much heavier quartz countertops. i have little kids and worry about the countertops falling off but i suppose at this point there isnt much i can do. thanks again

I hope it's fine, but I too would be concerned. It sounds as if the corbels were already there, installed originally to support laminate. Do you know how they are attached, ie the size of screws or bolts?

No unfortunately i do not know. They seem fine so far but its been only a couple of days. It hadnt occurred to me until the fabricators already had it on and they told me its fine and that they had done lots of these. that is all i know

How have the corbels worked? I am currently deciding how to have my quartz overhang installed. Thanks.
