The stone 'splashes aren't right. They don't add anything. They don't play that well with the other stone. That blue tile though...yeah. I like that. You have to want blue, but if you want blue, that'll be the way to go.

Do take of the existing granite stubby backsplash before tiling.

Judy's choices are certainly safer and would still look great. :P

I think the blue would look great, as would green. Off-white is safe but blah. Much too blah.

while I like the blue color 'leaf' mosaic, I don't think it fits your style.

I'll also add that you already have a backsplash. that 4" piece needs to be removed . otherwise, it's just too busy looking with tile on top of it

Score the caulked pieces and gently pry it off the wall. it should remove pretty easily.

Now just tile on top of the countertop. it will look much better this way.

if you want a shape, try something a bit larger than those 'leaf' that you have.
