Living Room Layout!

How would you layout this living room WITHOUT the sofa being back towards the fireplace? Im currently okay with it during the summer months BUT as we approach winter i want it to be more focused on the fireplace. We've tossed around mounting the tv in different places but i feel like this living room was kind of built backwards. I'm avoiding covering the big windows in the front (i love them) and we plan on putting the christmas tree in front of them. Im a perfect world the sofa would go along the wall where the tv is currently cornered and the television mounted to the fireplace but there is no outlet anywhere nearby and i don't feel comfortable mounting a tv to a wood burning fireplace. Any suggestions!?

So I would have an electrician come in and see if there is anyway to get electrical over by the fireplace. Then I would put the tv next to the fireplace sitting on the hearth if you have one or on a small stand if the brick goes all the way down.

The stretched photos are warping the scale and size of the room and furnishings. Standard photos would be helpful. It looks like you're in serious need of upgraded lighting. When you have the electrician check on wiring the fireplace, ask about a plan for installing more lighting. LEDs in the 4000K will really improve things.

Here are some scale photos (and one of the full fireplace) unfortunately as far as lighting goes we have one ceiling fan in the kitchen that isn't so bright and then a brighter lamp. And some recessed lighting above the fireplace.

Could you provide the room AND furniture dimensions? . If you would just draw the room out, showing dimensions, location of windows and doors to the room, it will help a lot. The sectional looks to be too big for the room; can it be separated to make a separate couch and love seat?

Is that a coat closet on the left of the FP? Often pros hide TV gear in a closet near a wall mounted TV. I think it could work for you and would seriously open up your layout options. Upgrade the cans at the FP and kitchen sink, change the kitchen fan to track lighting that can be directed where you need it, add LEDs under any upper cabinets, and hang a linear light over the dining area. Additional lighting for the living area can come from lamps. Where are your wall outlets located?

I actually LITERALL just discovered an outlet INSIDE the coat closet! Is there a way to run the wires from the tv (if we mount to fireplace) without it being too obvious?

Not an electrician, but it would be worth it to investigate! Proper tools could probably drill through the fireplace into the closet behind the TV and then be connected. You should call an electrician or a professional TV installation person who'll know how to do it. The clock can go between your two small windows on the opposite side of the room.
