Less Contrast in Trim Color

In an effort to have less of a contrast and break in trim color to wall paint...trying to recall the design guidance. If for instance, using a color like SW Wool Skein on the walls, what is the ratio to trim color, if going for a slightly lighter trim? Is it a 50% reduction or higher? I know you can also use the same wall color and the sheen will offer a slight contrast. For a color like Wool Skein, I'm not sure I want that much intensity in the trim color. Thanks!!

Why that wall color if you want little difference between wall and trim? IMO beige is my last choice for wall color I like a nice white with the same color in a semigloss for the trim if you want that look.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting I was so hoping to go that direction, but after 12+ samples of a whitish paint color, it's not working. The newly remodeled kitchen is the primary focus and it opens to the living area. The living area is north facing and the whites I've tried all look dirty. The other issue is the kitchen has a very light, almost white tile...not willing to go with so much white, i.e. floors & wall. Wool Skein looks great against the floors and the cabinets which are SW Studio Clay. Hit me with some whites....maybe I haven't found the right one yet. Thanks!

@Patricia Colwell Consulting BTW I have the white combo in my bathroom and I love it, but it's also flooded with natural light. The lower light in the living area is killing the buzz on the whites.

@BeverlyFLADeziner Thanks Beverly...have you seen a comparable chart for SW colors? The trim color they list on the back of the paint card is a super strong contrast, nothing like the BM colors.
