I agree with Celadon. I like bright white for cabinets. Other than that, some here seem to be getting SW Alabaster.

I have the Silestone Eternal Serena in the suede (or maybe it's the matte. not sure if those two are the same?). It's held up great.

agree about not doing the Antique white. just do a regular white.

Thanks everyone! I will most likely go with classic white cabinets with the Silestone charcoal. Next question is do I do the island in same white or wood? Husband likes hickory with a butternut stain. Floors are neutral in beige grey color. Rest of the house is hardwood flooring. Brother in law thinks I should look at Corian Maui for countertop.

you're naming off a bunch of stuff, but don't have any pictures. Without them, who knows?

Is your brother in law living at your house? NO? then have him get corian for his own house.

post a pic of your kitchen. Hickory and butternut stain is rather yellow. and hickory is a busy wood. With beige/gray floors, that would be a no for me.

Small space already has a painted cabinet around the fridge.

Hi Beth, he does like that bench very much haha. He is not a fan of white cabinets and would like wood. We had oak cabinets in our last house and he loved them. Even though these cabinets look like they are in good shape in the photo’s they are not. Drawers stick, inside cabinet doors are icky...they are inexpensive maple cabinets that are not appealing in person. I also want drawers in the lowers to make it easier access. Currently I have to open a door and pull out a shelf. Space is tight so I want to eliminate the lower doors. The stove is off center of the opening to other room. By centering it I can get larger lower cabinet to the left of the stove by 3”. Thinking the upper to the left of the opening I’d lose that cabinet and do open shelving. Going to lose the little shelves beside the window and make those cabinets wider.

I understand trying to keep your husband happy about your choices. However, you can tell him that his beautiful wood bench will be the star of the kitchen if it is all white and very subtle. It’s a GREAT bench, but matching the kitchen to it will diminish its beauty.

@RedRyder He’s starting to concede to the idea of a white kitchen. I remind him we are surrounded by trees and all he has to do is look out the window. Gosh I appreciate all the support and suggestions! I am getting excited about the white kitchen! Now to decide on a countertop.

Though I doubt I can convince him of that haha. He did like my grey/green stools I found at a consignment shop that are at the kitchen island currently. The accents of wood shelves and trim are fantastic. He really wants the charcoal countertop as he expressed earlier today LOL. He’s not sold on butcher block but I think that would be a great option for the island and I cook and bake A LOT. Super thanks for these ideas!!! Any of these would be beautiful in our small salt box home in the NH mountains!

Hi Lisa, did you get dura supreme doors in HDF or wood? I am about to get durasupreme cabinets for my new kitchen and have doubts between HDF (recommended by designer) vs wood. I am painting them. Thanks for sharing how happy you are with your Dura Supreme cabinets and material of choice.
