Can I get some philodendron information?

I just got this 'golden goddess' philodendron (Costa Farms) for half the price of the listings for everywhere currently selling it. I see online discussions that golden goddess is actually just immature thai sunrises. Is that true? I do see a single dark green dot against the yellow/lime variegation. Also I haven't ever owned a sunrise, do they normally have blush pink stems? I really only bought this because it waa cheap and with the pink stems looks a tiny bit like a painted lady which is a dream wishlist plant for me.

The "Golden Goddess" is the marketing name that Costa Farms uses. It is philodendron lemon lime. (http://briansbotanicals.net/product/philodendron-malay-gold/)

To the best of my research, this plant is not the same as Thai Sunrise which has a very distinct variegation. Golden Goddess aka lemon lime philodendron (not to be confused with neon philodendron hederaceum, the heart-leaf one) is not variegated, although it can throw an occasional variegated or mottled leaf.

Feel free to correct me if you find better information. But I think the hybrid names get tossed around a lot and sometimes land in the wrong place.

Update. I just received information directly from Costa Farms regarding the Golden Goddess.

"Golden Goddess is not a juvenile Thai Sunrise, but rather a sport selected from Thai Sunrise. It does seem to show some variability in that some leaves will have varying degrees of green variegation."

There is the definitive information about Golden Goddess. So I was wrong about it being Lemon Lime. Hope this helps!

Financing will be a component to your decision. In an ideal world, you can swing the design and construction costs while living in your existing house while you are building the new home. This route is the least disruptive to your living situation, but requires available resources. A decent local architect should be able to give you ballpark construction costs based on the size of the house and the level of finishes you are interested in. I would add a mortgage broker to you list of initial consultants to assist you in evaluating your options. Good luck with your project.

I'd go for a light cream one, maybe Dreamy Marfil Ceasarstone. Although I love the Prada Gold that is suggested above, but I feel it would be too busy with your floor.

I have wondered if Lemon-Lime is a Thai Sunrise that has gone all yellow. I can see where a yellow sport could easily be produced by a Thai Sunrise, I can also assume that an all green sport could arise, which would be a reversion to the original base plant.

My Painted Lady has reverted to green a couple of times, that plant seems to be Red Emerald which tells me Painted Lady must be a sport from it.

popmama: If it's helpful, Lemon Lime is a patented variety (not sure who has the patent), whereas Golden Goddess is a free variety. The biggest difference I've seen between the two is that Lemon Lime has petioles that are decidedly more pink than those of Golden Goddess.
