Anderson Door Repair

Hi folks,

Does anyone have experience repairing the veneer on an exterior Anderson door? Instead of having a new door installed, I would like to just cut off the bubbled veener that is no longer water tight (yikes!) and glue/caulk on a new one. We purchased the house with this door so the warranty isn’t applicable to us (first owner) and the door is 10 years old...or more. I can’t find any info on the Anderson site. Can I purchase a new veneer somewhere else? I’d rather not replace it at this time as that is planned for a bigger project. I just need to keep water out for now. Thanks!!

I'd pump that full of epoxy, clamp it, and figure out a trim detail to make it waterproof.

Not something you can purchase. Try Joseph's idea while you plot the panel replacement (or door).

Thanks guys! I should have mentioned we tried the epoxy idea before. I even used a rolling pin to press it flat. The trouble was that the clamps weren't really long enough. We put a piece of wood on it but the clamps just aren't deep enough to fully press out that bubble. It lasted for one winter. Guess it's time for a new door... sigh.
