Master bath help - trying to avoid allover beige/tan scheme

In process of repainting walls and cabinets, having a hard time selecting colors that will compliment my countertops, backplash and tile flooring. The walls were just primed, so they are white. My trim is BM white dove. Cabinets are currently painted SW Thunder Gray, which I think is too dark (looking to lighten things up overall). I would like to achieve some contrast and avoid an all beige/tan color scheme. Problem is I have tried about a million samples of paint and nothing seems to go with the countertops and flooring. Maybe there is something I'm not considering so please let me know what colors you would choose for walls/cabinets if this were your bathroom...

It’s hard to avoid it looking tan when most of it is tan lol!! I don’t hate it actually. I’ve seen a whole lot worse. But I’ve seen better obv. Anyways I think white or maybe some blue somewhere is your best bet. But honestly this ones a Toughie if we’re keeping the tiles everywhere.

that's a lot of tan/brown! short of changing out all the tile work, maybe the countertop, you're stuck.

    so you're repainting the vanity?

I'd prob do a soft, creamy white on the cabinet, and a slightly darker neutral for the walls.

this door color is white dove? paint the vanity that color

Or, try some of these for the vanity and the walls

Boy this is a tough one. First of all, gray is not your friend in this situation. All it does is make the yellow/gold in the tiles more obvious. I would not do gray on the walls. I would go white on the walls (but not a cool white). I think I would honestly with something like this green for the cabinets: https://www.houzz.com/photos/tomahawk-lake-house-farmhouse-bathroom-minneapolis-phvw-vp~58878988.

@Beth H. : Yes the door is White dove, and I've considered painting the cabinets that same color. What do you think of Gray Owl for the walls? I painted a sample of it and looked at it different times of day and night around the room, I like it but am afraid it might come off as blue so I'm not sure that it would clash? Out of the samples you posted I like the lighter colors better, maybe the gray mist? I'm afraid the darker colors will go pinkish or yellowish which I'm trying to avoid.

Here is pic of the room BEFORE I primed it. It was painted SW Intellectual Gray and I hated it. Too dark and looked more like a khaki green color IMO.

the previous gray only had a Light reflective value of 36. that's why it was so dark. however, I don't think it looked bad. your vanity was too dark. had you painted that white, the walls would have looked better

balboa mist and gray mist are both above 65-70%

but try the lighter vanity and lighter walls. it should make a diff

I'd also turn your lights downward. facing up just casts the light on the ceiling

@Beth H. : Thank you and I think you may be right. You don't think a yellowish/brown color will just be adding more beige though? I painted a sample board of Balboa Mist because I did consider that one, but it looked a bit pinkish against the flooring (!).. maybe it's just what I'm seeing though...

that could be since it leans a little on the taupe side. that's why I said to grab some samples because your lighting could alter the way the color looks.

I suppose you could go w/a sage or blue, or you could paint the walls a soft white and the vanity a latte color.

As far as adding more beige to the room, its already beige overload. I don't think a wall color is going to make or break the beige look!

@Beth H. : Will paint the cabinets first and face the lights downward. Hopefully that brightens the room up a bit more then I can focus on what color paint for the walls. Thank you for all the advice and input!
