help! quick simple bathroom cheap facelift advice

My husband had a habit of when I mention wanting to redo a space it either take years or I have less than 24 hours to decide, well this is one of those times I have to make decisions fast lol.

We are looking to do this space SUPER cheap (funds are tight), but it desperately needs a little change.

So I just picked up the mirror and we ordered a light fixture (image attached) because there is currently no light.

First picture where the bathroom is green is current. Second picture is updated after our first coat of primer. We are trying to work around pains we have already used around our home to keep cost down. Also the crazy backsplash is literally laminate that is GLUED on like crazy and we just can’t rip apart the drywall right now.

Questions.....

  1. Keep walls white to hide the crazy backsplash? Or paint the walls a light grey we have used in other areas of our home (image attached of mudroom of wall paint).

  2. Thinking about painting the lower cabinet dark grey that we have used on either side of the fireplace in another part of our home (image attached) or leave them white?

  3. I like the idea of the back wall being an accent wall, is that too much with the window and mirror?

  4. Just leave the Crazy backsplash as is or add tile on top of it?

  5. For now the faucet needs to stay brushed nickel, but I was thinking I would do towel bar knobs and toilet paper holder either black or brass..... thoughts?
