need backsplash advice

When I bought my house in 2006 it had the Tuscan feel which was very pretty at the time. now I’m trying to update the house and I’ve currently on the kitchen. I had the cupboards painted Edgecomb Gray which I really like. it has that putty undertone. I do not like my granite I unfortunately I can’t change it out at this point we will probably be moving in the next 1 to 3 years so I don’t want to take on that expense. I’ve narrowed it down to two.
It is 4x12 santorini white polished marble. It’s a creamy white and it doesn’t have the gray running through it more of the topi brown colors which I think ties in nicely with the granite and the floor. The second and less expensive choice would be Ivory subway tile. I’m including pictures of both, the one that I have laid around my kitchen is the marble . I have it standing up just to get a better feel of the color I would lay it in a subway tile formation.

You have busy granite and busy floors so I would choose the plain subway, but the one you picked is a little too stark. You might want to try for one closer to the cabinet color if you can. Is that back wall the only place you’ll have the backsplash? You might even just want to paint it, it would make it much easier...

Of the two, I strongly prefer the ivory subway tile.

You should have removed the backsplash tile before painting the cabinets. You may have to do some touch-up painting once the current backsplash is removed and replaced. With busy granite and a very very busy floor, I would select plain backsplash tile (with little or no veining) in a color which matches one of the lightest colors in the counter material, but NOT the gold color...probably the white color.

I love The warm woods with the light cabinet. ( how I wish I could do my kitchen)
How about the second picture should I go for more of a brick look?

100% agree with what KR said~ keep the backsplash as quiet as possible because the floors and countertops are both bossy. The ivory subway is a little too stark but better than the marble (no more pattern needed in here!)
And definitely look into reglazing or painting tile! Especially since this is not your forever-kitchen. If you think you'll be moving in 3-5 years that might be the best way to go. It will freshen and update the space without the mess, dust and permanence of tile removal/replacement.

Yes paint the tile first. I used the rustoleum primer and paint and it looks great. Worth a try, you can always remove it if you don’t like it. Otherwise I prefer the creamy plain subway.
