If hung properly they'll still let in the light/view. Perhaps you can change the blinds to something with texture like bamboo, so you can lower them at night to block views into your home. With the drapes covering more of the wall, you'll want to remove the mirror and blanket rack. This is more of a dilemma than a poll; what's there to vote on?

Get rid of the mini blinds, mirror, and blanket rack. Hang your drapes just a smidge higher than where you originally had them and replace the blinds with linen roman shades. The linen will allow light to come through but still offer privacy. Push the arm chair a bit away from the wall and replace that tiny lamp with one more substantial in size; the current one is overpowered by the large armchair.
