The real Mexican or SA Ariel is awesome, the Foca is second and the rest not so much and very sudsy. They are really made for lots of water and top loaders or hand washed in large tubs as is still quite common in Latin America

Came back to add that those detergents are available in the USA and appear to be from Latin America. Read the label very carefully if you want the "real" Latin American experience. Often they can't be shipped to the USA or they don't bother. Anything you buy in Walmart is not the real deal, it is the Americanized version.

Voted for Ariel. I haven't seen Acoiris around--not even when I was looking at detergents in MX. Will try it when I find it.

I bought a bag of Ariel w/ OXI in MX & brought home with me. I can't tell that it cleans any better than plain Ariel that I get at WalMart.

It's cool browsing detergents in MX. There are a lot of them, mostly powders. They use top loaders down there, mostly kept outdoors under cover. Doubt that front loaders will be much of a thing for the average person given the electronics probably wouldn't hold up to the elements.

I have only tried Roma .... I actually love the way it smells. How “good” it cleans I really can’t say, I have a front loader and knew it would be too sudsy but wanted to try it anyway and used it on throw rugs. But gosh it smells so good!

I recently bought a bag of Ariel and a small bag of Arcoiris. I actually wanted to get Foca instead of Ariel, but the small bags were out of stock at my local Walmart at the time, but I do plan on picking one up soon. Roma is the other one I want to try. This will be my first experience with all of these.

ci_lantro, when you were in MX, did you notice if the top loaders were different there? Were they mostly older models (2000s, 90s, 80s)?
