is this a sudden onset or has he been this way since birth? i know how hard it is to find a vet who is knowledgeable about pbps but you may be able to find an exotic vet who could evaluate him. it does sound neurological to me but it could be something simple. are you in an area where there are ticks? i used to find ticks on my pbps (usually behind their ear or on their belly) and those can carry diseases that can cause neurological issues.

as far as a cart, i would think a 2-wheeler would be adequate since the balance problem is probably related to his back end. good luck with him! they make such neat pets and i miss mine!

He's been that way since birth and 1 other one I lost the first night was the same way the third one was born alive but the top of his head was not formed all the way and one of its legs was curled around down to the hoof. So I'm pretty sure it's not a parasite. Besides his balancing issue he's a pretty happy little pig. He plays with the other 2 and suckles from mama pig good. I just don't know if there's anything else I can do to help him. And the vets around here all charge way too much for me to take him in which I don't quite know why because I live in a realativally rual/farming/dairy town. I've read so many different things on line its a bit overwhelming!!! I hoping he will outgrow whatever it is. Thanks for your response, I truly appreciate it!

ah, ok, so this would be considered a birth defect rather than something environmental or accidental. that being said, it's possible momma was exposed to something environmental (i.e., pesticide or herbicide overspray from surrounding fields, even tainted feed) during pregnancy. is this her first litter?

i wish i could be more encouraging, i know how frustrating it is to have the sort of pet that not many people (vets included) know much about!

As a human physician, I would recommend avoiding any attempts to prop the piglet up by using any device. He/she needs to develop as much natural strength and balance as possible. So, he/she needs to work to grow within, but to the outer limits of its abilities.
