the shadow from the hood would interfere w tree branch part if it were higher. the shadow is in the margin between tree design and frame now. Its better this way. Eyes go to the Tree.... not the position issue of the whole square.

I would have advised you to do larger edging, or a larger accent OR diff subway tiles, so you wouldn't have all the sliver cuts above and below)

I am not a fan of stove accents but I really like yours, maybe because of the way the color highlights the stove and hood and is so unexpected. I'm sorry the placement is different than your vision but the effect is still lovely.

(I also wouldn't call the tiles above and below "slivers" and think they look like half a tile, the same as the remaining tile in Beth's tree of life photo.)

It's not too low, it's centered between the hood and the top of the counter. I think the range being slightly higher than the counter top is what you're seeing. It looks good!

Looks like 1 and 1/2 tiles from top and 1 and 1/2 tiles from bottom…I know it’s not quite, but honestly, let it go. No one else will notice and in a few months, you won’t either.

I think your bigger issue is the wall plugs. I wish you electrician had installed the plugs up and under the cabinets. However, Now is the t\me to change the beige to white.

I can understand feelings of disappointment when something doesn't turn out exactly how you expected. I too can fixate on details. Hopefully you can listen to the good feedback here that your backsplash detail looks really lovely and doesn't look too low. With the range hood overhead, it might work out in your favor that you'll be able to see the detail better without being blocked by the range hood.
