Hi there, really struggling to identify options for updating the aggregate rock surface that surrounds our pool. We were strongly advised to pursue spray deck options to avoid the cost of demoing the existing surface, but that is not our preference. Not that we’re looking to spend an exorbitant amount with this update, but we don’t want to sacrifice the aesthetic of a high-end design to save a few $.

We like the look of the attached picture, and are leaning toward silver travertine coping, but don’t need/necessarily want to use travertine for the entire area (can be slippery).

We want to achieve a clean, modern design, and avoid the look of stacked stone or a pattern with multi-color tiles.

So far, installing step pads with a brushed concrete surface has been proposed as one option. Are there others?
