Bedroom help needed!

hello everyone! I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to furnish the master bedroom in my new house. I have an idea of what bedroom set I would like, but its a bit on the pricey side so id like to explore other options for the night stands and media console. I am terrible at matching pieces so that's why I wanted to match everything lol. here is what I have in mind:

I really love the canopy style bed with the shagreen accents, but the nightstand are also out of stock for almost half the year so id like to try to get something different like these:

any ideas you guys have would be helpful!

I have no idea what you want from us. I would need to see your bedroom , canopy beds IMO look best in a room with a high ceiling. I am not a lover of all pieces matching so Ilke the night tables you show . I aslo think that if you love something you can wait to get it so that is up to you.

A round side table/nightstand might look nice, and would offset the squared shape of the canopy bed. I personally would lean toward two different nightstands, but I'm all about mixing and the Boho look.
However, we don't know anything about the room, your style, the colors, etc., which would be helpful to know.

I think what you are asking, is if you purchase the bed, will the 2nd photo nightstand complement it enough to warrant saving the money for cheaper nightstand? Is that what you're asking?

Im not a pro, and would rarely disagree with them, but imho, the bed shown above has a bit of a gray-wash, and unadorned, natural, slightly rustic look to it.

If that's metal on the bed, it's so subtle. Whereas, the nightstand has a bit of a "glam" thing going on. The metal of the nightstand shown in the 2nd photo doesn't complement the bed (imho). It's just a bit too fancy-looking. It's also probably a glossy, brighter white, than the nightstands in the first photo. Feel free to ignore my non-pro comments in this realm. Maybe it looks better in real life.

I do think you can find a nice nightstand and save money though.

You haven't told us anything about your bedroom, but Pat is correct. Canopy beds require a vast volume of space to look good. No rooms with 8' ceilings. No 12x15 rooms. Something BIG. Is your room large enough to handle the bed?? See examples below.

I don’t agree at all that you have to have a huge room to put a canopy in. It’s totally a matter of opinion and personal preference, not a decor rule. Think of how many small, old homes/cottages in Europe have them and they look great and cozy (as just one example). We had a poster here years ago who had one in an old Philly row house, was just gorgeous. I had one in a bedroom with 8 ft ceilings, loved it.

Anyway, I like the direction you’re going, but yes, it would be helpful to get more info. :)

Jinx, show us a picture of a small room with a canopy bed. I'm anxious to see if I will change my mind.

Beverly, doing a search brings up countless ones. I’m having a lot of trouble with this site today — I keep getting an error message. I just posted a bunch of pics on another thread, and got it again (the error message), so the whole post was lost. It’s very frustrating!

You know I love posting inspiration pics, if I can later I will. :)

There are so many options and price points. I’d get your bed first, then decide on table’s style, size, color, what would work with dresser and how you want room to feel in general.

Ok, Beverly, prepare to be wowed! And say, “Oh my, Jinx! I love these canopy beds in these rooms!”

I‘m teasing. When the OP comes back, she’s going to think we’re so weird. 😆

I’m posting ones close to the ceiling, whatever the height may be .... of course I can’t see the exact room dimensions, but they look to be average. Some designers use canopies to actually give the illusion of making the room feel bigger.

ETA: I had to post this for fun ... now this is a canopy! You could do a trapeze routine on it. 😂

OK I do like some of the beds with the slim frames in these more average-sized rooms.

Omigosh, @Jilly , I love-love-love the melon wall color in the first canopy pic you posted. It's perfect for my BR. Do you recall where you found that? I want to save it.

Thrifty, isn’t it scrumptious! I love that color (and room). I’ve seen it on lots of blogs over the years, here it is on Houzz:

    https://www.houzz.com/photos/steven-gambrel-time-and-place-contemporary-bedroom-new-york-phvw-vp~1113227

Here‘s what someone said about the color:

”It isn't Tuscan Coral. I contacted the designer's studio directly for this paint color. It is Cool Lava by Benjamin Moore 2088-50 in Flat Latex finish. I searched everywhere to the point of madness and they were so gracious to share the color with me. It is pink I assure you but a beautiful coral pink. Hope this helps everyone else who is searching for this gorgeous color!!!!”

That poster shared this pic of the room, too (sorry it’s so small) ... it can look much more pink depending on light:

Oh, on my phone it looked more melon-y orange. A coral or salmon pink might work in my room, but not if it looks really pink. Thanks for the info!

They can help you better, if you post pictures of all four walls and dimensions of the room.

@Jilly I don't think you guys are weird at all :) @BeverlyFLADeziner that makes a lot of sense, I truly appreciate that input!

since the canopy bed is out of the question, I have come up with some other ideas that id like opinions on:

im kind of set on the nightstands I posted originally, so now I'm trying to figure out a bed frame to go with them. what do you guys think about this one? Im not sure which color would go best (I'm so terrible with matching colors)

im also open to any ideas you guys may have!

@BeverlyFLADeziner thank you for that last image I really like that look! what is your opinion on my post above? do you think I should stick with a light colored bed frame and a slightly darker nightstand instead of the opposite which is what I kind of thought originally?
