Refinish wood floors, windows, trim, etc.

We are recent 1st time home owners of a house with lots of wood... floors, windows, doors, trim etc... all of which needs some attention. I would love it all to be a more natural/neutral hue (not painted). How do I start? Is there one expert who can do it all, or will it be different ones? Any advice will be much appreciated, thank you!

First, it's a very nice house! There is a lot of wood as you say. Even though you said no paint I would still suggest painting the baseboards, door and window trim. Would also suggest replacing the stair balustrade with something less heavy. Steel railings and balustrade would provide some nice contrast. As for any built-in I would suggest leaving those as they are unless the finish is in bad shape. Good luck!

I agree. The detail in this house is gorgeous. Those doors are stunning!! Love. I too would suggest paint ( SORRY!! Lol) for the baseboards and window trim. You can restain the other wood if you don’t like the color. But I think they’re very pretty

Thank you both! I have always been all about white on white on white... but somehow I don’t feel it in this house 🙂 I never considered the balustrade, but now that you’ve mentioned it I can’t “unsee” it! Thanks!
