Sand the balance of the finish off to expose the raw wood, There is still some of the tinted topcoat on the cabinet.

Or just sand them nice and smooth, and prime them with high quality primer, and then repaint, with a paint that is meant for cabinets.

Refinishing cabinets is no joke.

Which is why Pro cabinet refinishing companies charge what they do.

There's so much prepwork to get it right to re-paint or stain.

Then there's getting the primer & paint to come out right after.

I'm a heavy DIY myself, but refinishing cabinets, I will not do. In my opinion, Too much work & too many things that could go wrong.

You may want to just hire a Pro from here to finish the job.

If you're going to paint them, I highly suggest finding someone to at least spray them.

Painted cabinets will not have the factory hard finish of new cabinets.

However, if you want to take the long adventure of DIY cabinet refinishing, then I wish you success...

I've stripped wood. Stripping wood can be the best route. It is messy but not really hard. Most things I've done needed 2 or 3 times. Once you are set up it's not hard. Looking at that you are almost to the finish line. I'd strip again..maybe two more times . I have had better luck w marine stripper . Found it had a longer working time and stronger generally. If you can get all that off why don't you stain a medium to slightly dark on the oak. If you prefer gel stain many approve of GENERAL FINISHES . Depends on the doorstyle and what you have going overall . some nice new hardware on cleaned up older oak w newer medium to slight dark finish. Nothing wrong w that. I don't know why you'd paint.
