Thanks for the link- good info there. How do you suggest I place a hanger in this space? What about the asymmetry?

https://hicks-house.com/tag/how-to-hang-curtains-in-corners/

I would just hang the hook close to the edge on that one side but enough that would allow for a bit of the curtain to fall on the right side of the hook and hide it. You will lose some of the window but it will look good once hung and up.

have you considered nice shades or fancier blinds instead? there are so many style options, and it'll look less awkward than curtains.

you could do a ceiling rod with no/or very flat finial.

I would probably go with ILove Mod's shade suggestion.

finial!!! THat's what they are called.

I thought about shades, yes. Can you send A LINK, PLEASE?

Shades are specific to your needs. You should contact a local company and have them come out and measure and quote. If that isn't in the budget then you can get basic roll down shades from a multitude of spots like Home Depot and Ikea etc.

nOT SURE custom shades are in the budget and I dont want roller shades....

If you google "roman blinds" you should get options in your area. I'm in Canada so I doubt what I find would work!

I could try this but worry as there is a double window - might be too heavy on one side

I buy my blinds from places like selectblinds.com and save money by installing them myself. whatever kind of blind or shade style you get, I suggest an "outside mount" for your window type. I'm happy with select blinds so far, however, the one thing I would warn against is anything cordless. they break so easily. get something that uses a cord or continuous loop to lift them.

Thanks everyone for some great ideas! I'm going to try a ceiling mount.
