Space between mounted TV and stand

Hi! Trying to determine what to place between wall-mounted corner TV and the stand underneath. I'm thinking a plant?? Open to suggestions. It's 29 inches between the bottom of the TV and the stop of the stand. Thanks!

A plant isn't going to hide the fact that it looks awkward. Right now, it looks as if the tv is mounted too high and the stand is too small. What is the reason for keeping the stand? I see a game console, is there other components stored in the stand?

Put a slightly smaller tv on the tv stand.

I agree that the TV is too high. But my husband always mounts really high. It's not my preference but that's what he prefers and this is pretty much "his" TV room where he watches sports so I let it be. He also went out on his own and purchased the stand. So I'm trying to make it work because it would be difficult to return since he put it together.

A further back picture would be easier to see the space.

If it is "his" room, then leave it. Let him have it the way he wants.

If he does not like the space, he can: Lower the TV, Get a larger TV stand, Add art work between the spaces, Paint the space a darker color to make it blend in.

    Other angles...

If he insists on it being that high I would probably just get rid of the unit all together. It doesn’t look like it serves any purpose, like holding cable boxes, right?

    Better viewing, fewer chiropractor bills.

Slowly walk away from the room and let him be.......you will never be happy with the way it looks and he won't care :-)

It makes for a beautiful marriage.

A large ginger jar vase would look very pretty there.

It seems like the tv would have fit on the wall instead if being mounted in the corner, and flat on the wall would have been a better viewing angle for the sofa. Can the chair move to the other side of the sofa so the person sitting there can also watch by?

As you posted originally, I would give the plant a try.

One that is in a large oval basket with a wispy fern like plant.

So, after a trip to Hobby Lobby and At Home, this is the final product. Also moved some of his fraternity items into the space. Fortunately, it's not too distracting with the TV on. Thanks so much to everyone for your comments!! They were helpful. And I can't wait to give him the handy dandy chart of where the TV should be placed! :) And to the person who suggested a small the TV, you should see what we have in our bedroom. 😂Suffice it to say a smaller TV was a non-starter. Thanks again! Really needed the feedback.

@njmomma if I wouldn't have taken the route I took, I would have gone with the plant you suggested. Botham pic.

He will love it and it gave you a place to put all his fraternity items.

Men and their TVs......... well at least you know where he is :-)
