I want to replace this worn down 9x12 rug in our living room, add some new throw pillows, & replace the decor on the sofa table. My main constraint is that this space has to function as a play room & living area until we convert the unfinished space upstairs to a playroom.

I’ve taken down the periphery Christmas decor, but the trees are still up. 🤪 #babysteps But I’ve included a pic from today & from last year of the whole space (both with the Christmas tree) then another from October to show the typical furniture configuration in here. I currently have one of those chairs in my master & am kinda liking it so not sure I’ll even bring it back out here. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I loved the look of this rug included in the last pic to bring in some warmth, but would love other rug recs! Must be durable for my 2 & 4 yr old boys. And any other decor ideas to refresh this very much lived in space. I love the Studio McGee & Magnolia looks so would love to incorporate some of that feel.
