You could consider consulting a realtor about whether Tudor-style houses are popular where you live, and/or whether they have any experience of their being redone successfully.

I agree. I would love to be able to change some of the stuff here. Ideally I would remove the brown trim and stucco and go with a white board and baton. Maybe paint the trim black and paint the doors. I also think the landscaping is very very busy and should be neat and minimal. Remove the stone... just have boxwoods for now. New lighting. Great house

That you for your input HU-187528210! I agree with you on the landscaping..I am working on a 5 year plan. What you see is the tip of the iceberg as there are over a dozen "garden areas" which incorporate stones as a border. I like the idea of white board and batten and would love the black trim but the soffits, garage doors and gutters are all brown and would be very expensive to change - garage doors are new. Maybe a very dark brown? Or do you think the trim around windows and maybe corners could still be black?

You can use stucco board instead of real stucco for ease of maintenance. You can change the color of the timbers if you want a different appearance for the Tudor style.

Thank you mbriles35222 and BeverlyFLADeziner! I have done some more research and we have decided to go with the stucco. I think because I am not "in love" with the Tudor style I was, as one article said, "fighting the architecture". I did a lot more research and with input from all of the commenters realize that an off-white stucco with little if any trim and window trim in a shade or two darker than the stucco would modernize this dated look. Thank you! The work won't get done until May but I will post pictures with the results.

Well the work did get done this summer! Here’s what was done. Next spring we will be landscaping the front yard with new front walk and gardens. Thanks again for your comments.
