I am on my second Golden Meadows and since it greens up, you'd think it would be a better grower (perhaps it is, just not for me (yet)). Here it is end of May and already lost its white middle.

sunnywood, I often wonder how much land you have......you have so many huge hostas. You also have such beautiful streaked hostas. Grand Marquis, Guardian Angel, Galaxy and Gertie are really outstanding!!

Debra - First thanks for all your kind words. Your G. Peeps looks lutescent, while mine is viridescent. I moved it into more sunlight and now it looks almost albescent. Please don't show any more gorgeous pics of G. Blue Banana. I had a chance to pick one up and resisted. I don't want to regret it. G. Elegance looks very nice too.

Beverly - How do you keep the center of Golden Meadows so bright for so long? Hopefully, its a maturity thing as mine is still young.

Sunny - such nice big Hosta. Great to see the potential these have.

Gemstone gets dappled sun/shade all day. My soil is moisture retentive but being on a well I do not water. We had a blazing hot drought year and it was not fazed in the slightest. It is a must have in my assessment! Get it LOL!

mbug - I'm going to show pictures of your plants to my plants to inspire them to greatness. Your GA progression has convinced me I need one. I know it has a great reputation but I've been on the fence about it due to its size. Now I just need to find room for it. Maybe some Golden Prayers would help.

I showed this pic with Cold Heart in the C's, but now I'm showing it for Guernsey Cream on the right. Not a favorite (they can't all be) but I love how it contrasts with the others (Devon Green in front, Fog Light behind and Parisian Silk up top with Color Festival photo bombing) to show people who think they're all just green or green and white.

Thanks for the comments......I moved Guardian Angel 4/5 years ago and it has thrived in the new spot ever since. I don't do anything except make sure it doesn't get thirsty! I always try to move plants that aren't doing well before I give up on them. Sometimes you get lucky and, I'm convinced, sometimes you just get a dud.

sandyslopes despite not getting a good pic of Gemstone this year I am happy you have it and love it as much as I do. You always post great pics, that Gypsy Rose is impressive!

mbug I too have threatened to show pics of yours to my plants over the years along with many others here. Your plants are at the bar we all attempt to reach. Your Guardian Angel in particular is phenomenal!

I have been struggling with this one in a pot. I just planted it in ground last summer. I do like the wave and light edge to it. It might be an attractive hosta---one day!

I decided I needed to make room for other newer hosta, so I divided up my Golden Tiara. I kept one and rehomed the others.

Guacamole

This is the spot where hosta go when they are not behaving themselves. It's a small area between the air conditioner and a wood retaining wall---with an electric meter. On the left is Guardian Angel in August. It had been struggling but last summer it really put on a lot of growth. I guess it's time to find it a proper home now. But it better behave itself!

Old Dirt - I thought it was you had a tree ringed with Golden Tiara! I was remembering a picture of that when I divided and planted these around my little elm. They tolerate the sun pretty well, but a rabbit got in the yard and ate them down to the ground. They sent up more growth though... definitely tough plants! I hope they’ll be back and vigorous this spring.

Not a good picture, but my short row of 3 Ginko Craig- the one in the middle clearly doesn’t get as much sun.

Gold Drop, which has grown tremendously and really holds up to full sun.

I failed to get pictures of Geisha, Get Nekkid or Great Expectations.

NHL - so funny, ‘tough love’ for hostas. I also “rehomed” some plants last summer. I called it “editing”... in my determination to get all the potted plants in the ground, I found I needed to make choices. Thankfully a couple of friends were willing to take some off my hands. I lifted/divided some, and gave away my Queen of the Seas that was still in a pot after 2 years. I just didn’t have enough shade for another large blue.

Also rehomed some daisies, daylilies, peonies, iris and carex.

My plan for this season is to only buy what I know I can fit in... and I’m definitely going to squeeze in another streaker because I’d like to try my hand at seedlings again in years to come. and variegation would make that more interesting.

Doing some catch up.

I've had 'Gold Standard' for many years, in many sizes and many different locations, which is easy to do for me since most of my hostas are in pots. GS looks best in mostly shade, give it too much sun and it burns. This picture is from when I had it in mostly shade and it was HUGE.

"Golden Tiara' is another long time resident in our yard and a reliable performer.

'Guacamole' has been a favourite for years. It always makes a good showing and I love the showiness and fragrance of its flowers in July and August.

An unexpected addition was 'Gooseberry Sundae'. I say unexpected because what I'd ordered was 'Raspberry Sundae' and that's not what it was. It's vigorous -certainly more so than the 'Raspberry Sundae' I received the following year as a replacement- and I love its flowers and seed pods.

'Gypsy Rose' is one of those members of the Hyacinthina family tree that's difficult to tell apart from close relatives, in this case 'Striptease'. Most of the leaves on the one I have show little to no white outline to the medio variegation but it does stay smaller than its parent.

Finally, 'Grand Tiara'.

peren.all, I have no idea when or where I got Gold Regal and didn't know what it was until a couple years ago.

djacob, I know what you mean about the Gold Standard but am positive it is. I have four of them and all were from divisions of the original plant. Must be a light think that makes it look so blue but it is in almost total shade.

windymess, My Golden Tiara is rabbit desert and will get eaten every year if I don't constantly spray it with Liquid Fence or some other deterrent. It does come back but always smaller.

For anyone paying attention, I found a pic of Fluted Fountain (upper left) next to Grecian Vase (lower right) I took last year (7/25/20). Not the best comparison, but I'll (hopefully) get a better shot this year.

Steve, very nice! I added Grecian Vase 2 years ago, but it was tiny.
