I feel like that blanket would gobble me up like I was Candy Corn.

That blanket may be terrifying, but it is also deeply wonderful.

I agree with Jinx, that blanket/throw is hideous!

Was it knitted with baseball bats?

It's all those fake floral things that scream dust magnet to me.

Is this a house or a Home Goods?

The chunky throw is beautifully made. I would like one on a bed.

It's the accent decor itself which reminds me of the craft fairs.

Whoever chose the colors to work with the wall paint, was way off. I see pink ifor undertone and would have thought this would have been a better choice.

Tried hard, but missed the mark!

I think this would be a wonderful picture for some of the talented people who help here to edit/suggest changes that may improve this room. It has lovely features and posters here may learn a lot from others’ take on it!

Definitely straight outta Homegoods. It's soulless.

Could be a nice room with some heavy editing. I agree the throw is too much but so cozy looking.

I am more than willing to choose things for form over function, but this room is just dumb. As configured, the sofa will seat one. Well, I should say it seats one human, and six pillows. Maybe if your imaginary friends are pillows. But don't offer your imaginary friends any libations; the coffee table is covered with .. IDK, are those leaves?

Also, when you choose fake plants, it becomes more obvious if you put them somewhere that fake plants would never grow Like those three dumb pots.

The line up of three lamps and a jug screamed out to me. Then the pillows...

Are there leaves intertwined in the chandelier in the background (breakfast room? dining room?). Too much ___________ (fill in the blank with anything because there it too much of everything!)

Just way too much extraneous stuff (including the lineup of lamps). I would probably like the room if all that stuff was simply removed but I prefer minimal extraneous stuff.

It’s the pillows. The karate chop. The quantity. And the fake stuff on the coffee table. Where do I set my beer? Oh, excuse me, my Chardonnay. Although, if there‘s nowhere to sit (pillows and throw, and I’ll bet there’s a cat hiding in it on the floor) I’ll just stand and hold on to it.

I'm sure that's a giant wall clock hiding behind the dried arrangement, no?

The couch pillows were what prompted me to start a thread on "Dr. Rick" which I saw after reading this!

I don’t know about you guys, but I wouldn’t mind shuffling my feet across that rug. Best thing in the room, IMO.

Oh my! They must have a hella lotta Wayfair boxes in their recycling.😳

Where will I put my book, the remote control and my coffee.

Symmetry is fine but with those pillows it looks ridiculous.

All those pillows on the sofa and not one co ordinates with the buffalo plaid fabric on the chair. And the chair pillow has nothing in common with the sofa, The faux flora makes me sneeze just looking at it even before thinking the rug is never vacummed because there is a throw laying on it.

I agree that there are far far too many pillows. The throw would be ok if it were on the less chunky side. You never want a throw to be the focal point.

The coffee table needs to be cleared off. I noticed they also stuffed a basket under it. Crazy.

I also agree that the line up of lamps and the tall vase stuffed with fake flowers is overkill.

I could go on.... but yes that rooms is stuffed to the brim.

It wouldn't take much to make this room nice and I always appreciate someone who tries ( even bad designers) and misses the mark then the endless slog of gray rooms with one lumpy brown sofa, carpet and awful wt's.

That said, the buffalo plaid chair is really jarring to me along with all the home decor kitsch, of course.

Can you imagine how they decorate for Christmas, Valentine’s Day? I kinda wanna see that!

This room will now always be my first mental image whenever I read that a space needs a "pop of color".

There is even a picture on the outside of the house that you can see through the window. This room has nowhere for the eye to rest.

I think the bones of your room are really pretty! Maybe four pillows max on the sofa and switch one out with the one on the chair so there is done intermingling. I would definitely decrease the amount of floral things. Maybe the throw could go draped out of a basket in a corner of the room so it's still there but not taking over. Would you consider a different rug? Maybe with a large but light pattern to it. Hope this is helpful!

Waiting for the pillows to break out in a finger snapping, acapella tune from Pitch Perfect.

Oh. How would one know this is not a real person asking? I was wondering why everyone was just going for the jugular!

Super chunky throws are popular now...not my thing, but then I'm usually behind the times. What bothers me is scale. Especially the size of that middle flower arrangement that's even larger than the lamps...and the arrangement on the coffee table that fills the table, and the basket below that fills that too. Even the molding over the opening to the kitchen is too tall. The lamp by the check chair is way too tall, the side table is too high relative to the arm of the chair and the shelf with the pots over that chair doesn't fit and the pic with the words is too large for the space. Harder to see in the pic, but it looks like the arrangement on the dining room table is too tall too. Someone needs a sense of proportion.

I had to Google Image search to see where this came from. Thought blogger with sponsors. Basically, yeah. She does Christmas up too.

It's all too much for my eyes. I can't believe people are still blogging and have enough readers to make a living. Don't get me wrong, I used to read a few, very few. They all end up like giant commercials, pushing products they are getting for free or paid to advertise. It's like wash, rinse, repeat.

Anyone who refers to themselves as an "influencer" in any form already tells me exactly what I need to know about their one-note schtick. I'll take a hard pass.

I miss the thoughtful blogs of years ago (about 10 years? Time flies...). Kudos to anyone who can make one work today. Everyone's attention span seems to have been shortened.

Agree with you about that rug, laraisaacs. Absolutely perfect.

I am constantly AMAZED at the money these IG, YT, and TikTok creators can make! My dd has quite a large number of followers, organically, bc of her involvement in cheer on the national level, and she is constantly inundated with sponsorship opportunities. She has done a few, but really doesn’t have the time or inclination to do it properly. Many people are making a career out of it, making 6 figures and up. Mind boggling.
