Though I am not ready to do much needed renovation/reconfiguration of my small kitchen (approx 7 feet x 14 feet) am in same dilemma about replacing an old apartment size gas range that I've used since the 1970's.

I haven't decided yet and have found local dealers scant of interest or information about smaller size ranges and no display models.

So far, I ruled out Ilve, bertazzoni, blue star and five star. Some because of cost, some because of features I don't need, some because of small oven size, some because construction (of the large units display models I saw) seemed "off."

Each of the three local dealers i spoke with suggested summit and Avanti but also said that both have service and parts problems.

Have you seen the Verona 24", the Blomberg 24" gas range (tho seems unclear whether it's a freestanding or slide in) or any of the Peerless Pro ranges or know anyone who has used them? I dont know much about them (Verona tho is very helpful with information) but these are on my latest list of freestanding range possibilities.

Do you have the space and wiring to do a gas cooktop and electric wall oven underneath if you don't need gas oven?
