Bathroom update ideas please

We are about to close on new house and would like to update some of our master bath features.

Budget is a tight consideration and we are life long DIY people with some tools and skills.

My current idea is to modernize the shower with glass enclosure, maybe partial wall on sink side, remove wall between shower and toilet and put regular soaking tub instead of jaccuzzi. There is closet across from toilet

Would like to have minimal moving of plumbing. I am quite ok with working tile but more on decorative side like walls and backsplash, would be happy to go acrylic shower pan and possible shower wall as long as it does not look too fake. Real tile everwhere else.

Would like to change floor to LVT with heated underlayment. Thermosoft produces one. I love heated floor but tiles do crack and then you stuck being afraid to change it since you might damage the heating cable.

There is utility room underwith unfinished ceiling.

I hate cleaning grout. I love tile. So i will need some compromise. I like light and modern contemporary look.

You are in desperate need of storage from what I see, I happen to love acylic tubs and walls . A nice deep soaker would be my choice anyway. I love shower screens on showers and tub/ shower combos If you post a to scale plan we can help a lot more . Do you really need a separate tub and shower or could you consider a tub/ shower combo. Maax makes awesome tub shower combos in a acrylic I have used them often for clients they clean up really nicely look nice and affordable and easy to install. You need to address the storage so what is in the step up next to the tub ? IMO a perfect spot for a tall storage unit . Ikeas Godmorgon pieces are awesome for bathrooms and nicely priced too. The vanities have great storage and all pieces easy for DIY.

Patricia, thank you! I was just looking at MAAX and Godmorgon too, yesterday guy at Ikea said they have hard time keeping Godmorgon stock. Glad to hear you like utile, seems fairly realistic looking design and does not seem too difficult to install.

Would be happy to hire out and built real tile shower, it is not that much price difference... But am lazy cleaner, my idea of shower clean up is spray it with windex once a week lol.

I might be overthinkng entire grout issue as there are plenty of large porcelain tiles and it could be engineered to have minimal cuts.

I will sure place all my measurments and dimensions in a couple of weeks. To answer question yes, this will be separate soaker tub and shower. House has 3 bathrooms total, so we have another that is tub/ shower combo and third one that is just shower/sink/toilet unit.

I just figured out that wall between sink and shower has all shower plumbing and back wall is outside wall so nowhere to go. But toilet wall has to go.

There is decent size closet behind the shower, in the toilet room, but yeah seems irrational as nowhere to place stuff otherwise. Perhaps I could figure out storage unit that serves as privacy screen for toilet?

And my beloved heated towel rack has to go somewhere.
