Finishing up old projects

I tend to make a quilt top, usually applique for something to do, and throwing them in a drawer. With Covid I decided to drag things out and give them away or finish them. And, this is one small one.

As most of you know, quilting an applique piece is a real "bitch". Since this was small I decided to do it anyway and get something done. Now I can feel less guilt and move on.

This pattern was in Quiltmaker magazine in 1999. I found it in a pile of magazines later on and thought it would be a good applique project. It was called "Partridge in a Pear Tree". Where I come from our partridges don't have that top knot. So I call it "Quail in a Pear Tree". I took the red out of it so I could hang it at other times of the year besides Xmas.

Now I'm moving on to finish up a large applique quilt. It's going to be a real challenge to quilt up so I may just post the flimsy and throw it in that drawer.

thinking of all of you. Stay well.
