with browning leaves.. it was previously stressed ... so you stressed it more with repotting ...

you are going to have to just let it settle down and see what happens in the next 4 to 6 weeks ... and in the meantime.. just water it properly ...

it may lose all its leaves.. but there may be a good chance.. if the repotting solved some issue.. that it can releaf

Based on my research, the pot was a bit big and because of excess moisture, it wasn't a good environment for my plant. That is why I chose a bit smaller pot to prevent root rot and control the water.

How long were the bare roots out of soil?

Maybe an hour I would say. No more than 2 hours for sure. Is there any link between roots and exposure to the atmosphere?

The roots need to be kept wet. You need to mist them frequently.

If they’re exposed to air without soil around them or sprayed with water, the fine roots dry up and die quickly. The plant is then no longer able to take up water, goes into drought response and the leaves droop.

An hour or two is a long time. You likely lost most if not all of the fine roots that pull moisture from soil.
