I have a Lacanche with an induction top over our warming cupboard. Love it. Can’t say enough good things about it. I’m curious what you meant by Miele “potentially cause less allergies for the kids since no gas fumes”? Are your kids allergic to gas?

How did you come to choose between the Miele and Lacanche? They are completely different in terms of function and aesthetics... Nothing wrong with either, just trying to figure out how you narrowed down to those two.

You will need to ask yourself how you intend to cook. If you're coming from an electric cooktop and having kids, the induction cooktop would be a safer option and it will cook the same way. If you do not intend to use the gas option much, I would consider the Miele. We did look at the Miele induction initially. Having a larger flat cooking surface to cook is a nice feature.

For us, the main advantage of choosing the Lacanche is to be able to customize for both induction and gas cooktop hobs. Some of our specialized cookware are not induction compatible. I cook with a lot of pan movement, so having gas allows for constant exposure to convective heat, and the cast iron grates are very forgiving when the pan hits the cooktop. With the induction hobs, I always have to be extra cautious setting down any of the heavier pots.

As megs1030 mentioned above, they are both different aesthetics. The Chassagne with warming cupboard, with Miele CSO would my choice if we had the space. We went with the Savigny with dual electric convection ovens and it has suited us well.
