I don't and will not use PODS for that very reason.

You can't control the dosage.

I have naturally soft city water and have to use small doses of detergent.

Sea Sea I have no plans to use anymore pods. Tried the one and that was enough to know they were a no go. I have 2 recent college graduates who hopefully will be able to find jobs and move out on their own. I will send them along with the pods.

I find most people using PODS have uprights washers that fill with a LOT of water. They don't well in almost any front loader due to the much reduced water use.

Most dorms and other communal laundry use commercial upright washers since they are inexpensive when buying a bunch of them.

I never have and never will use laundry detergent Pods because dosing cannot be controlled. Our FL machine uses a fraction of detergent dose recommendations.

I don't use them either. I'll stick with my Powder detergents.

Even though it can be annoying to lug bottles to communal laundry, I won’t use pods. I like the control I have over dosing and my preferred liquid (Tide plus Downy Free) doesn’t have an exact match in pods (the pod version adds optical brighteners and subtracts cellulase)
