Interior decor choices

Hi everyone
So I just bought my first house and I'm a little bit stumped as to what colour furniture and decor will go with it. The floors are porcelain tiles throughout. The two bedrooms have built in cupboards however it's not my favorite color but I will work with it for now. Walls are Grey in color.
My current headboard is Grey so I'm keeping that and the sofa is also a darkish Grey.
What colour pedestals/drawers would work in the bedroom that would be modern given the colour of the cupboards?
Also the bathroom I need to get a vanity for the sink and maybe a small storage cupboard for towels--what color wood would work here? Bathroom tiles are more on the beige side. Will try to post a photo

So all that furniture will be out as in my original post. My sofa is dark Grey. I'm trying to find a photo of because it's all in storage while Im waiting for the transfer to go through.

Oh no! Sorry for reading too quickly. You wrote that at least twice, but I obviously honed in on those great photos and got carried away!

Your new home is beautiful! Congratulations!

Pros here will want you to share (asap) your floor plans with measurements of each wall, window, and door. It can be one drawn to scale, such as on graph paper...or you can make a rough--but easy-to-read sketch--and someone here on Houzz will likely make one for you within a day. That will guide every decision for successful results such as pieces of furniture that fit your needs and your space.

Also important to know are details of how many people will live here and how you would like to use your rooms. For example, tv or no tv? Frequent gatherings/entertaining?

Do you have an inspiration piece such as wall art or an area rug? If not, you may want to start looking for one as that can be key to giving you a starting point. For my favorite home of all time, I started with a patterned area rug that I loved, and from that, I chose my color palette for the entire house. For some of us, that is the easiest way.

If you like what you see in the previous owners' photos you've shared, I would certainly use them as a guide! Do you like neutrals? You seem to like gray, and that can go in many different directions. Do you know if they are warm or cool grays? Those are important details to know.

Please share an online image similar to your sofa style and anything else you want to use.

Answers to questions like these help, too:

    • Do you want to keep existing paint colors?
    • Do you have any colors that you’d like to use throughout the house? favorite woods? favorite metals?
    • Do you have a favorite style?
    • Do you want to keep existing paint colors?
    • Do you want to start with one particular room?

If you have not yet saved images that appeal most to you, start now. From those, you will start to see your style emerge. You can use the IdeaBooks on your home page, and if you make them public, others will be able to see what you like. That can be helpful to all, especially if you refer to them.

This is all big picture. I won’t have any suggestions for your specific questions until I know more about what you like. You have numerous options. Just for fun, I’ll share a favorite accessory of mine recommended to me a by Houzz pro, @Home Interiors with Ease. It is a sheepskin pelt to add to the texture and layers that are so often recommended. This is an image from the Overland Trading Co. website, and I wonder if you might like it on your gray sofa? or elsewhere? Knowing whether you love it or hate it can be a starting point...although usually accessories come later. 😉

    This will be fun!

Long spaces create some challenges. Can I assume you want seating with TV? Dining section? A big piece of art on wall opposite the big windows might be beautiful. How many people will be using this space?

Flo is here! This is your lucky day! She is "the best" with floor plans...and most any decision you need to make!
