A 42” round table can seat up to 5 adults. A 48” to 54” round table can seat up to 6 adults. A 60” round table can seat up to 8 adults. A 72” round table can seat up to 10 adults.

Each person needs about 2 feet of space to be comfortable. So to seat 10 people, you need 20 feet of circumference. That translates to a little more than 6 feet of diameter. A 6 foot diameter table gives each person about 19 inches of space. Try that at your own table and see if you think that's enough and consider the size of the dining chairs you want or have already.

That's a pretty big table. Could you consider a drop leaf table or a smaller round table that could become oblong with the addition of leaves?

Then for chairs, you'll want at least 36" behind for someone to pull a chair out and sit down and a pathway around.

So the minimum room size to accommodate that size table and chairs would be 12' X 12' and that would be tight.
