Sounds like a great question to email to the manufacturer. I know that some hydroponic nutrients have to be added to the water one at a time and never mixed prior. But I have no idea about these two.

The Pro-Tekt is highly alkaline before mixing with water, and the fertilizer is acidic, so yes definitely add water between and mix one in before adding the other. Doesn't matter which is first or if the first one is added before or after the water, as long as they are separated from each other's concentrated states by water. :)

From the company website: "Pro-TeKt is introduced first into the mixing tank/container then add ¾ of the intended volume of water. Finally, add the other nutrients and top off with the remaining volume of water. Because a very high pH is required to keep Pro-TeKt concentrate in solution, it is important to fully dilute it before adding other Dyna-Gro nutrient solutions which have low pH. Mixing the two concentrates without first diluting them will turn Pro-TeKt into a lump of silica gel!"

Don't know if this is the correct way, but I use (two) 1 gallon size containers of Arizona iced tea. I then take a gallon of Poland distilled water, and fill each container of the arizona iced tea half way.

I then place half a teaspoon of DynaGro FoliagePro in one container, and 1/4th of a teaspoon of Pro-Tekt in the other one.

I shake each container very well to make sure the chemicals are properly dispersed. After that, I pour the contents of one container into the other one, and again shake well before using it to water my plants
