Hi,

I am remodeling a bathroom. I have enough room to increase the depth of the 72" long vanity by 6-7 inches. The increased depth provides space to include a shelf slightly above and behind the faucets. In addition I'm considering building the wall above the vanity out 6-7 inches and 8-9 inches above the shelf. The increase wall depth allows me to install 8-9" deep medicine cabinets above the sinks and another storage cabinet above the toilet that is also 8-9" deep.

I've included 2 different vanity wall options in the attached picture.

Option 1 on the left shows the shelf running the entire length of the wall.

Option 2 on the right shows the shelf running to the end of the vanity cabinet.

Which option do you think will look the best and why?

And any other advice or thoughts are appreciated too.
