If you’re selling in 2 years, I wouldn’t do a darn thing. Your kitchen looks very nice, well kept, clean, etc. If you think installing a backsplash would help sell your house, then I’d go to a tile shop and bring some samples home to see what you like. I’d keep it simple in shape.

I disagree, a backsplash is minimal cost and certainly can add a lot of interest to your kitchen. Just make sure it appeals to a wide varity of tastes.

I would try cream or warm white tile, in a classic shape like subways since your kitchen is traditional. Maybe a crackle finish for some interest.

Try off-white with cream yellow/reddish cast to echo gold tones in the granite and reddish tones in cabinet. It's worth glueing down sample tiles on a board, prop it up, and see how it looks under day and nighttime conditions. Right now put this online sample against your online granite photo in a second window.
