It depends on the light fixtures. Light bulbs would be easy to change with sconces, but be potentially blinding when ascending or descending the stair.

I would go with the ceiling fixture. The sconces are likely to be too low to illuminate the stairs that extend downward from the landing.

Two recessed adjustable LED spot lights aimed at artwork or photos on each side wall.

We did a fixture over the landing and did stair lights to give illumination when dark. That way, my kids don't always have to turn on the overhead.

A gorgeous ceiling fixture is my vote!
