I've ordered rug #2. I'll try to get some in-progress pics next week once the pieces, other than the chandelier are in place.

I still need to decide on a paint color or if I want to try wallpaper, and window treatments. I would like to go a bit lighter this time. Any suggestions?

I rarely suggest paint colors because it’s too hard for me to say without seeing a room in person, seeing the rest of the house, lighting, etc. Also, I’m an outlier on these boards because I don’t like cool toned colors, I like warm ones.

I think with what I can see of the room, the rug, and other elements ... I’d go in a warm ivory to light tan direction. Or something with light ‘dusty rose’ tones. But that’s just my own preference. I love your idea of doing a grasscloth— my very favorite wall treatment.

I’m so excited to see how this turns out!

I'm drawn to this wallpaper for some reason. I'm not sure if I would want vinyl or real grasscloth though. I could always try for a similar color with paint first to see if I like it, or if it feels too girly.

Kat, that’s so funny ... this morning, I came across this and was going to show you. The feel of the room reminded me of yours (although I like your things better). But I thought, nah, she probably doesn’t want this much pink. It’s just beautiful!

Jinx- I do like that. I'm going to get the pieces into the room and order some samples from Samplize plus a few wallpaper samples so I can see them in the room.

Either rug should work but have to say I'm partial to rug #1. Understand that you've selected #2. That one should work quite well especially if you paint or paper your walls in a complimentary color. Good luck!

Hi @katmumn - I love the rug you chose! It’s so hard to be sure of color on a computer (or in my case iPad) screen, so I’ve attached a screenshot to get clarification. What about using this color? Is it a very light sage green? I’m hoping so! That would be beautiful, and not too “cool” for the furniture, etc.

Although I can see why youre attracted to the paper for the walls, I do think it might be a little “girly overkill” and take away from the subtle elegance of the rug.

I actually thought about that Mary. I had considered a sage along the lines of BM Sage Tint. The only hesitation I might have is that the room has been a color a few shades darker than that for the last several years so I was thinking it was time for a change. I'm going to get the rug in place with the rest of the furniture and put the Samplize and wallpaper samples of the light blush shades up on the walls to see if it reads too girly for me. Although it's just me and my 2 senior Labs, and they're both girls so maybe girly is ok.

Update on my progress or lack thereof. The mattress was originally supposed to be delivered last week and finally made it here this week, only I'm swamped this week between work and school (I'm finishing a degree). I'm hoping to get everything into the room in the next week or two. The one wallpaper sample I really want to see is the only thing that still isn't here.
