Changing the kitchen sink

We bought a very old but “updated” house a little over a year ago and I desperately want to replace the kitchen sink. The sink measures 22.5”x16”. I know - who does that?!? In our old house, my prep sink was bigger than than that by quite a bit. The cabinet base is 42” wide and would easily accommodate a larger sink. The issue is the granite countertops. Ideally, I would like to install a 34” or 36” apron front sink, and yes, I realize that would mean cutting the granite. One other option is to keep this sink (which is in the island) as a prep sink and install another sink along another wall but we would still need to cut granite. Whatever we do will involve cutting the granite. The dishwasher is in the island and I would not want to move that to the other wall because it can’t be accommodated there.

We have seen an apron-front sink at Lowe’s (Koehler, possibly) that can be installed in existing cabinets. I don’t think it can be fitted as an under-mount sink. Any thoughts or suggestions?
