Need advice for exterior

Looking for ideas on how to update my home’s exterior. I love mid-century modern, but know my house is not that style. Hoping I can pull of something transitional or contemporary (if I’m using those terms correctly). House was built in 1960. Thank you!

What you are going to do with shaker shingles? replace with cedar planks may be? Replace garage door?

Trying to steer clear of cedar. We have woodpeckers that visit annually in October. Definitely want new front and garage doors and open to changing the porch too.
